The 6N139 is a high-speed optocoupler with a photodiode and high-gain transistor output, designed for isolating logic-level signals in digital circuits. Featuring a CTR (current transfer ratio) as high as 600% and a typical switching speed of 1 MHz, the 6N139 is well-suited for interfacing microcontrollers, industrial logic circuits, and communication systems with electrical isolation up to 5000 Vrms. Its DIP-8 through-hole package allows easy integration into breadboards and PCBs.
