EDA Technology Co., LTD (EDATEC) provides standard hardware solutions and offers design & manufacturing services that accelerate custom electronic product development and reduce time to market. As one of design partners of Raspberry Pi, EDATEC focus on industrial RPi based solutions over years. An ultra-wide-angle lens is a type of camera lens known for its exceptionally wide field of view, allowing it to capture a broader perspective of a scene compared to standard or narrower lenses. Here are some key characteristics and uses of ultra-wide-angle lenses: Wide Field of View: Ultra-wide-angle lenses have a focal length significantly shorter than standard lenses. This wide focal length allows them to capture more of the scene in a single frame. Close-up Shots: Some ultra-wide-angle lenses have a close focusing distance, making them suitable for creative close-up shots with an exaggerated perspective. Creative Perspective: These lenses are favored by photographers for creative effects. They can exaggerate the sense of depth and perspective, making objects in the foreground appear much larger than those in the background. Landscape Photography: Ultra-wide-angle lenses are commonly used for landscape photography. They are excellent for capturing vast landscapes, dramatic skies, and dynamic foreground-background relationships. Architectural Photography: Photographers use ultra-wide-angle lenses to capture tall buildings and architectural details. The wide field of view allows for including the entire structure in the frame while standing at a close distance. Interiors: In real estate and interior photography, ultra-wide-angle lenses are valuable for capturing spacious interiors, such as rooms, kitchens, and living areas. Astrophotography: Wide-angle lenses are also popular among astrophotographers for capturing the night sky. They can capture a large portion of the Milky Way or include a dramatic foreground element with the stars. Lens Selection: Different camera manufacturers and third-party lens makers offer a range of ultra-wide-angle lenses with varying specifications and features. When selecting one, consider factors like aperture, optical quality, and compatibility with your camera. The ultra-wide-angle lenses are versatile tools in photography, known for their ability to capture expansive scenes and create dramatic perspectives. They are popular in landscape, architecture, and interior photography, among other genres, but mastering their use often requires an understanding of their unique characteristics and potential challenges. The Ultra-Wide Angle Lens is great for security applications where you want to see a wide field-of-view. For example, by using the Ultra Wide Angle Lens your OpenMV Cam can easily detect motion in an entire room using frame differencing without having to be mounted far away.
