
Nokia 5110 LCD was originally designed to be used with the iconic Nokia 5110 mobile phones, but it's still being used in various electronics projects and designs, as it is capable of displaying alphanumeric characters, draw lines and other shapes and displays a bitmap image.
Nokia 5110 LCD module uses the PCD8544 interface IC making it easy to use with low-level microcontrollers. It communicates using SPI protocol and hence does not require more pins. The module also has a readily available library for Arduino which makes it ideal even for hobbyists and electronics enthusiasts.
