The Sharp GP2Y0A02YK0F Digital Distance Measuring Sensor is an infrared-based proximity sensor known for reliable distance measurement. It is commonly used in robotics, obstacle detection, and automation systems due to its consistent performance over a wide measurement range. The sensor operates by emitting infrared light and calculating the distance to an object based on the reflected light's angle, providing accurate measurements with minimal interference from environmental light.
This sensor module is straightforward to integrate into microcontroller projects, as it outputs a continuous analog voltage corresponding to the distance measured. The GP2Y0A02YK0F is suitable for detecting distances up to 150 cm, making it ideal for applications requiring mid-range object detection.
